Crea Thera International

Empowerment and connection through creative and therapeutic projects

Belgium

Osmace is a small mountain village in the Srebrenica region with a primary school for around 20 children. It was here that Crea Thera started its first workshops and laid the foundation for a sustainable music project.

Many residents experienced the civil war in the 1990s, and its consequences are still felt today. The children of that time, now parents themselves, currently organize a music project for their own children together with Crea Thera.

In spring and autumn, the children take part in a week-long program filled with singing, instrumental exercises, theatre, and creative improvisation, concluding with a presentation for the community. In this way, they learn musical techniques and theatrical expression while developing self-confidence, cooperation, and emotional expression in a safe environment.

The explosion in the port of Beirut in 2020 and the ongoing violence have made the future of many people in Lebanon uncertain.

The I SEE YOU project, in collaboration with Loyac, offers young people space for therapeutic healing through music theatre.

In 2026, Crea Thera will continue this work in the region with a focus on young adults. Through collaboration between a music therapist and a theatre maker, a performance is created for the community, while training sessions ensure the sustainable continuation of the project.

These sessions take place in various reception centers in Molenbeek, Poelkapelle, Bruges, Wingene, and Sijsele.

During the music therapy sessions, the focus is on strengthening group cohesion, promoting relaxation, and encouraging self-expression while tapping into personal strengths and qualities.
